Are you looking to register with Ofsted on the Childcare Register only?

Along with a full paedatric first aid course, it gives all the training required to register with Ofsted.

The course contains 4 modules for you to complete at a time that suits you.

This Level 3 CPD Accredited Course comprises of 4 modules. Each module has a knowledge test at the end which you need to complete in order to pass. There is no limit to how many times you can retake the knowledge tests if you need to. Then simply print off your certificate of achievement. After completing all 4 modules, you will also be able to print off your Course Certificate. The CPD company will also email you your CPD certificates that will clearly show how many CPD hours you have accrued.

Is this course for me? If you are planning on registering with Ofsted on the Childcare Register only, you must either have at least a Level 2 qualification or training in the Common Core.

The Childcare Register has 2 parts:

  • Voluntary Part- if you will be caring for children over 8 years of age, or will be working as a nanny in the child’s own home

You can register on either or both parts of the Childcare Register.

This course is aimed at:

  • Childminders who are caring for school aged children only (year 1 and above- you would also need the Early Years Register if caring for children in reception year of school)
  • Home based Childcarers (nannies) who are caring for children in their own home for no more than 2 families (if you wish to care for children from more than 2 families you would need to register as a childminder)
  • Holiday and activity clubs
  • Out of school clubs that are not operated by a school
  • Activity based groups such as dance clubs, trampolining clubs, boating clubs etc.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
